India’s buffalo beef exports have grown significantly, India has exported 1175193.02 MT of buffalo meat products to the world for the worth of 3,3 Billion USD during the fiscal year 2021-22.

Quality

Buffalo meat has been shown to be leaner than beef, 40% less cholesterol, 55% less calories, and 10% more protein, minerals and vitamins. All of the animals are kept in small, controllable herds and are only fed natural pastures and crop leftovers. Animals in India are not given any hormones or growth enhancers. For a long time, India has been free of the dreadful mad cow disease (BSE) and other livestock diseases such as rinderpest and infectious bovine pleural pneumonia (CBPP).

Standards

The production and the export of de-boned, de-glanded frozen Buffalo meat from India is a strictly regulated industry governed by the Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), Ministry of Commerce (MoC), Government of India (GOI) which sets strict standards in addition to utilizing its organizational infrastructure to assure adherence to the defined standards.
